  1. Sarah Jenkins –

I picked this up to secure my hallway windows without limiting movement inside the house. The narrow beam feature is a total game-changer; I can walk past freely while the perimeter stays guarded. Installation was a breeze with the SmartBracket, and apsardze24 shipped it out incredibly fast.

    Sarah Jenkins –

Can I move freely in the room while the MotionProtect Curtain is armed?

Yes, the device creates a very narrow detection beam (curtain) that secures only the immediate perimeter, such as a window or door, allowing full movement inside the rest of the room.

How does the Ajax MotionProtect Curtain (38195) handle pets to prevent false alarms?

This detector utilizes two independent PIR sensors and the ELSA software algorithm. When installed correctly, it effectively ignores pets weighing up to 15 kg and up to 40 cm in height.

What should I do if the detector does not connect during setup?

Ensure the battery strip is removed and the QR code is scanned correctly; if issues persist, please contact our technical team at [email protected].

What is the expected battery life for the MotionProtect Curtain (38195)?

The device operates on a pre-installed CR123A battery which provides up to 3 years of operation, depending on the frequency of alarms and polling settings.

Can I adjust the detection distance if 15 meters is too long?

Yes, the detection sensitivity and range logic can be adjusted via the Ajax Security System app to suit the specific dimensions of your room.

Is this specific model suitable for outdoor installation?

No, this model (38195) is designed strictly for **indoor** environments. Using it outdoors may damage the unit; you must select the specialized Outdoor version for exterior use.

What warranty and support are provided with this purchase?

Unlike many grey market sellers, Apsardze24.lv offers a full 2-Year Warranty and maintains a local service center in Riga for immediate support.

How far can the detector be placed from the Ajax Hub?

It supports Jeweller radio communication with a line-of-sight range of up to 1,700 meters, though walls and ceilings will reduce this effective distance.

Is the Ajax MotionProtect Curtain compatible with all Ajax Hubs?

Yes, it is compatible with all Ajax Hubs and ReX radio signal range extenders, ensuring seamless integration into existing Ajax security systems.

Does the Ajax MotionProtect Curtain detect intruders through glass windows?

No, PIR technology detects changes in infrared heat, which cannot pass through glass. The sensor must be installed on the interior side of the window or door you wish to protect.
