Do I need Wi-Fi or an SD card for the camera to store images?

No, the MotionCam does not use Wi-Fi or local storage. It transmits encrypted photo series directly to the Hub via the Wings radio protocol in under 9 seconds.

How does the pet immunity feature work on this device?

When installed correctly at a height of 2.4 meters, the SmartDetect algorithm ignores pets weighing up to 20 kg and up to 50 cm in height to prevent false alarms.

Will the wireless signal penetrate thick concrete walls or metal partitions?

Thick barriers and metal significantly reduce the maximum 1700m range; for technical advice on range extenders or complex layouts, please contact [email protected].

Will the Ajax MotionCam work with my standard Ajax Hub or Hub Plus?

No, this detector requires Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus, or Hub Hybrid. It uses the specific Wings radio protocol for photo transmission which older Hub models do not support.

Is the Ajax MotionCam capable of capturing images in total darkness?

Yes, it is equipped with a built-in infrared (IR) backlight. This allows it to capture clear black-and-white images for visual verification even in unlit rooms.

How long do the pre-installed batteries last in the MotionCam (38190)?

The device comes with two CR123A batteries that provide up to 4 years of operation under standard settings. Frequent alarm triggers or extreme cold temperatures may reduce this lifespan.

What happens if the device stops working properly?

Apsardze24.lv provides a comprehensive 2-Year Warranty on this product. Our service center is located in Riga, ensuring fast diagnostics and support for customers in the Baltics.

Does this detector take photos on demand or only when the alarm triggers?

The standard MotionCam (38190) captures and transmits an animated photo series only when motion is detected while the system is armed. It does not support photo-on-demand functionality.
