  1. David Miller –

Bought the red Ajax FireProtect Sounder from apsardze24.lv and I am thoroughly impressed. It looks sleek, was super easy to mount on the wall without taking it apart, and the delivery was fast. Great peace of mind for home safety!

    David Miller –

Why do I need this standalone siren if my FireProtect detectors already have internal buzzers?

The model 118601 provides a much louder audible alert and, crucially, an EN 54-23 certified high-intensity flashing light (VAD), ensuring alarms are noticed in noisy industrial environments or by individuals with hearing impairments.

How does the Interconnected Fire Alarm function work with this sounder?

When configured in the Ajax app, this siren activates automatically if any paired FireProtect detector in the system registers smoke or heat, ensuring the alarm is heard throughout the entire building.

Is it difficult to mount the device on a high ceiling?

Installation is efficient using the SmartBracket mounting panel, which requires no disassembly of the enclosure, and the wireless Jeweller technology allows for placement without running cables.

Which Ajax control panels are compatible with the FireProtect Sounder VAD (118601)?

This device connects via the Jeweller radio protocol and is compatible with Ajax Hub, Hub Plus, Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus, Hub Hybrid, and ReX range extenders.

Is the Ajax FireProtect Sounder VAD suitable for outdoor installation?

This device is primarily designed for indoor wall or ceiling mounting to ensure EN 54 compliance; for outdoor audible alerts, we recommend the Ajax StreetSiren model.

Does Apsardze24.lv offer a warranty for business clients on this product?

Yes, Apsardze24.lv provides a full 2-Year Warranty for both private and business customers, with fast shipping across the Baltics and local service support in Riga.

Does the package include batteries and what is their expected lifespan?

Yes, the unit comes with pre-installed batteries ready for immediate operation. Under standard supervision settings, the battery life extends up to 5 years before replacement is needed.

What should I do if the device does not pair with my hub during setup?

Verify that the device is within the 1,700m wireless range and that the Hub is disarmed; if the issue continues, please contact our support team at [email protected].

What exactly does the EN 54-23 certification mean for this Red Fire Siren?

EN 54-23 is a standard for Visual Alarm Devices (VADs) that guarantees the strobe light produces sufficient illumination coverage to effectively warn building occupants during a fire, distinct from standard decorative LEDs.
